Boho-chic is a term I am sure you all must have heard. Its been all the rage ever since Kate Moss and Siena Miller started to redefine it, making it much more mainstream.
If you are wondering what Boho-chic is all about, it can be simply summed up as fashion of the care free, anything that sums up nomadic or gypsy for you – fringes, furs, turbans, loose/split skirts, ethnic embroiders, filets, cropped jackets, harem pants are all elements of Bohemian style. These are just a few and you can spell your own boho-chic style.
Todays outfit is my take at making boho-chic wearable for all you collegians this summer, without feeling like you have gone too far. This boho-chic outfit is also very comfortable along with being very body-friendly.
Quick Tip– If you have heavy thighs or lower abdomen, opt for Harem pants that have a lot of volume in the top or a drop crotch( like the one I am wearing) with a more A-line fit because it will make your body look more uniform.
I was never a huge fan of Harem pants since I thought they would make me look fatter or broader. I have my own insecurities when I think about my problem areas. But Boy I was wrong about them.
You just have to figure the right fit when it comes to harem pants. The boho-chic pair that I am wearing has a very low crotch which almost makes it look like a skirt, but that in fact helps hide all the lower body problem areas .
I wanted to play with textures and thus I teamed these up with my white lace semi-sheer top. I love Lace because it can instantly lift up an outfit. ADD some LACY tops to your collection if you haven’t already and trust me your style quotient will rise by a notch!
I added a brown sling-bag which again has tassels and wrinkled leather texture to add to the bohemian feel. You can definitely add statement silver accessories to add to the boholook we are aiming but since its been really hot lately I went light on accessories and wore my favourite combo at the moment- my tiger gate earrings along with my double ended gold bangle.
Quick Tip– Metallics are IN for 2016, play with them and mix your GOLDS and SILVERS.It is not a Faux Pas.
I love gold and silver so much and I don’t think you always have to choose between them. Metallics are in vogue for 2016 and you can easily incorporate them through your shoes. I went with my silver pointed-toe platform Loafers to finish the look.
My hair are beachy curls for this one, and I let them be just as they are because being Boho-chic is all about being your true nomadic self isn’t it?
Hope you all like this look. Do share, comment and like if this look inspired you to go Bohemian this summer girls!
