Today’s outfit is not one but two looks with pretty much the same pieces. A white blouse is a wardrobe basic. It’s a very versatile piece but if you buy one with some texture it can easily be a head turner. Maxi skirts have been around for quite some time while the split maxi skirts bring the much-needed freshness to them and if you haven’t invested in one yet go for it.
Look 1 Going Formal with a Maxi Skirt
This look is chic and feminine enough for the office. A lot of people do not feel comfortable in Pencil skirts, and so these A-line Maxi skirts are perfect for them plus they are here to stay in 2016.
Mine has a baroque print in blue and a knee- high split on the side. I paired it with my white ruffle blouse untucked and added a Royal blue blazer on top. Again versatile pieces you can style uniquely each time.
Burgundy heels cut the monotony of the white & blue and make the outfit look crisp. A brown satchel with some light earrings and watch finished the look.
I tied my hair in a bun because you do not want them to be in your face during a meeting.
Look 2 Knotty Evening Out.
Usually ( and this has happened with me a lot) there are times that you do not get time to change and have to directly head out on a date or hangout straight after work.
Don’t worry the trick is to simply lay down the look. I just unbuttoned my white blouse from the bottom and tied it in a knot to crop the length. Converted my satchel to a relaxed sling bag. I opened my hair and sprayed some sea- salt spray for some beachy waves. Everything else remained the same.
I love how beautifully casual this outfit looks. Knotting down your button-up blouses is my new favorite thing at the moment and also makes your mid-abdomen area appear lean giving an illusion of added height.
I have a winged eyeliner on with berry lips from Inglot AMC Matte lipsticks ( review will be up next).
